The 16° Rome Marathon - 2010 edition
Sunday, on March 21st 2010, starting from 9.00A.M.
On March 21st 2010 will start the most attended race: the famous “Rome Marathon 2010” that has become a fixture, touching all the symbolic sites of the city. In fact, with its unique and picturesque tour, the Rome Marathon develops the typical full route of 42km (26.2 miles) which connects the most beautiful places of the city: beginning and ending at the northwest side of the Coliseum, the circuit passes some of Rome’s finest sights - the Piazzas of Venezia, Popolo and Navona with its fountains, St. Peter’s Church, the Synagogue and the Mosque. The Olympic Stadium, Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, the Theatre of Marcellus, the Trevi Fountains are all on the route, which is lined with tourists and supporters.


Soon after the Marathon, starts the RomaFun – La Stracittadina where all the sport lovers are invited to complete the full route of 4 km next to great professionals athletes. It is a leisurely walk - no limits of age, size and race - as anyone can participates: classmates, grandparents and grandchildren, parents and children, together with their favourite domestic animal, on skates… well, as every year, the emotion of being there is the main reason for which thousands of people won’t want to miss out this tradition.
The Stracittadina RomaFun, one of the many races with the highest participation rates in the world, awaits all in the Capital centre, on 21st March 2010 (Coliseum 9:00 a.m.) and immediately following with the start of the 42km Marathon.

New for the 2010 edition is the introduction of the Nordic Walking with the walking-sticks – an other funny way to enjoy the marathon.

TICKETS:
Soon after the marathon starts the RomeFun, the non competitive race of 4 kilometres. To take part of this event you can book your place a day before by visiting the Marathon Village. The cost is € 7,00 and you will receive an official Marathon T-shirt upon registration.
REGISTRATION FEES
  • € 35,00 – up to November, 23rd 2009
  • € 42,00 – up to December, 21st 2009
  • € 55,00 – up to January, 28th 2010
  • € 65,00 – up to March, 8th 2010 (end of registration)
  • Only for Italian athletes: € 30,00 first participation, up to January 28th 2010.
  • Free entry for disabled athletes (categories: Paraplegic, Tetraplegic, Blind, Amputee, Deaf) if received before February, 28th 2010.
