After the FINA World Championship 2009, Rome is newly hosting in 2010, next to other main Italian cities, a very important sporting event: the VolleyBall World MenChampionship 2010 which will unfold starting from 24th September to 10th October 2010. Milan will be the first location chosen to host the championship and Rome will be instead the last site honoured to welcome the final.


The 10 sites chosen to host the VolleyBall Championship 2010 will be the following:

    VOLLEY2010 is an important international event that gathers thousands of spectators worldwide and the 10 cities chosen are not only hosting the event but are also the ideal locations for an enjoyable and memorable stay framed by art, culture, landscapes, gastronomy and sport. The aim is to strengthen the volleyball movement in Italy and worldwide, and to highlight Italy not only as an attractive destination for arts and culture, but also as a place of excellence for the organization of major sporting events.

    Volleyball is a sport in good faith, grace and beauty, has values of teamwork and has no physical contact. There are 24, the qualified men’s national volleyball teams for the VOLLEY2010 Championship: Italy (the country-host), Brazil (the champion in 2006), Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Cameroon, China, Cuba, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Porto Rico, Czech Republic, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Tunisia, U.S.A. and Venezuela.
    RAI, the official Italian TV, will broadcast LIVE all the matches of the VOLLEY2010 Championship: from the qualifying rounds until the final match that will take place in Rome, on 10th October.

    In the month of October 2009 will be definitively confirmed cities, dates of meetings, teams and matches.
